More within the area of civil engineering, Zenoni (2014) made a study of the application of muon tomography regarding the monitoring of historic buildings stability. The studied application is used in cases where the conservation restrictions are more rigid and the evolution of the observed deformation is very slow. The vaulted wooden ceiling of the Palazzo della Loggia in Italy was chosen as a case study where a preliminary application was carried out. The results showed muon tomography as a good alternative, if not better, to the mechanical monitoring system previously used in the palace.
