Resources
FARM for LIP-Lisbon users are composed by resources from the IT department and from individual LIP groups that are willing to share their computing power with the rest of the community. Presently, resources are supporting CentoOS 7.x, x86_64 operating system.
The LIP FARM started at 1999 with torque scheduler that was replaced by the Son of Grid Engine (sge) on 2009 and is on operation since then. The sge is no longer suited for modern resource allocation and control and it will be replaced by the SLURM scheduler.
The SLURM commission started at 22 of February 2021, the old scheduler sge will be available until the end of 2021. Both schedulers are available at the pauli.ncg.ingrid.pt login servers.
The table bollow show the resources allocated to the LIP FARM, the cluster is composed by other servers but this are reserved for other uses. The HEPSPEC2K6 benchmark results are dimensionless numbers representing computing power, they are meant to compare servers CPU computing capabilities.
